Nestling on top of the Trikuta Hills at a height of 1,700 mt is the sacred cave shrine of Vaishno Devi, the mother goddess. The Holy Cave of Mata Shri Vaishno Devi is 30 metres long and just one-and-a half mt high. At the end of the cave are shrines dedicated to the three forms of the mother goddess – Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and Mahasarasvati. Pilgrims have to enter in small groups through a narrow opening and walk through ice-cold waters to reach the shrines. According to legend, the mother goddess hid in the cave while escaping a demon (Bhairon Nath), whom she ultimately killed.

Itinerary for Vaishno Devi Yatra with Amritsar
Day 1
Jammu / Katra Arrival
Night Stay : Katra
On reaching Jammu Airport or Railway Station, we will pick you and drive towards Katra. The drive from Jammu to Katra is 44 kms and usually takes around 1 hour to complete. On reaching Katra, check in to your hotel room and freshen up. Later, get your Vaishno Devi Yatra Parchi from Shrine Board's counter or you can also book online by visiting Shrine Board's Website Link : Mata Shri Vaishno Devi Yatra Parchi . After getting Parchi you can start your Yatra.

Day 2
Vaishno Devi Yatra from Katra and return
Katra to Vaishno Devi – 17 Kms
Night Stay : Katra
In the morning start your holy yatra to Vaishno Devi. From Katra, you will climb one km to Banganga, where the goddess is believed to have stopped to drink water; then after a couple of kms you will reach Charan Paduka where the goddess stopped and looked behind while running away from the Bhairon Nath; 6 kms further is the cave shrine of Ardhkunwari, where it is believed she rested and meditated for nine months.
The last halt before the actual shrine is the Bhawan, where there are arrangements for wash- and- change, accommodation and for depositing luggage and valuables.
The vaishno devi cave is 30 metres long and just one-and-a half mt high. At the end of the cave are shrines dedicated to the three forms of the mother goddess – Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and Mahasarasvati. A rock just opposite these Pindees in the main Bhawan oozes out continuous natural water and is said to mark the presence of Lord Shiva in the temple.

After darshans return back to Katra for night stay.

Day 3
Katra to Amritsar ( Wagah Border)
6 Hours | 290 Kms
Night Stay : Amritsar
Check out from your hotel at about 8 AM and drive for about 6 hours to reach Amritsar. On reaching Amritsar drive towards India Pakistan Border called "Wagah Border". It's an experience not to be missed while in Amritsar, the flag lowering ceremony at Wagah, where, each day, resplendently moustachioed soldiers from the rival nations perform a ludicrous marching and saluting routine leading up to the slamming shut of the frontier gates. A daily theatrical military spectacle that India and Pakistan have jointly followed since 1959. The drill is characterised by elaborate, colourful and rapid dance like manoeuvres and raising legs as high as possible. Later in the evening return back to Amritsar. Night stay at hotel in Amritsar.

Day 4
Golden Temple, Jallian Wala Bagh
In the morning visit the Golden Temple, also known as Harmandir Sahib, meaning, ‘abode of God’, and the preeminent spiritual site of Sikhism. Visit the temple kitchens where legions of daily volunteers prepare and serve a free thali lunch to thousands of pilgrims.
Later visit to the Amritsar Partition Museum, housed in the historical Town Hall with its arched verandas, doors with venetian glass, beautiful floor tiles and historic belfry. This new superlative museum subtly and movingly documents the consequences of the end of British rule and the partition of India into two countries. Walk through the old town and a quick stop at the Jallianwala Bagh, a historic garden and ‘memorial of national importance’ preserved in the memory of those who fell in the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre when acting Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer ordered troops of the British Indian Army to fire into a crowd of unarmed Indian civilians at the festival of Vaisakhi in April 1919. You can enjoy a local lunch of kulcha, lassi and firni at Kesar da Dhaba. In the evening we will drop you at the Railway Station or Airport for your return flight.
